You have a beautiful house and now it’s time to make it truly feel like home.  You’re always on the go and you want a space that feels like the perfect expression of you.  I’m Pamela Day, a San Diego based Interior Designer, and I specialize in designing homes for forward-looking clients who also hold nostalgia for the past, jet-setting creative types with an appreciation for world cultures as well as their current locale, and those who want a home that feels relaxed, layered, collected, and lived in, never “decorated.”  Basically, I design homes for interesting people that are interested in life!

My design philosophy is that each home should reflect its owners in the most flattering light.  I love weaving the family’s unique history into their home, while being mindful of the style of the house and the locale.  In addition to modern furnishings & finishes I enjoy incorporating antiques & heirlooms into the design, whether that’s a high-end statement piece or a distinctive vintage find.  To finish that layered, luxurious, relaxed environment that feels loved and lived in, not “decorated,” yesterday from the pages of a catalog we round out the design with very simple things to balance the harmonious mix.

On the practical side: I hold a BFA in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego and a Master’s in Business from San Diego State.  Design school taught me how to draw a plan and see a room before it exists. Business school taught me how to hold a budget, read a contract, and keep a project moving when a shipment lands late or a contractor goes quiet. Over the past decade I’ve built real relationships with Carlsbad and North County San Diego’s best builders, contractors, and artisans, and I manage every project myself, from the first space plan through the last placed accessory.
